Job summary

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a perioperative nurse to lead patient care using the nursing process across cardiovascular, thoracic, and complex cases.

You will circulate independently on high-acuity surgeries and coordinate the surgical team to optimize outcomes. Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program and one year of advanced surgical experience, plus BLS HCP and RN licensure in applicable states.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program or education equivalency for licensing.
• One year advanced surgical experience.
• BLS HCP - American Heart Association.
• RN licensure in IL/MO/OK/WI or equivalent for practice in multiple work locations.

Responsibilities

• Provides perioperative nursing care by completing comprehensive preoperative assessments, planning and implementing individualized interventions and evaluating care outcomes.
• Leads coordination of the surgical team to maximize patient outcomes on complex cases.
• Mentors other nurses and technicians, and serves as a clinical consultant in area(s) of nursing expertise.
