Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. in Boston is seeking an Onsite OR Flow Manager to lead perioperative patient flow, coordinating Pre-Op, ED, and inpatient movements to the OR and on to PACU or inpatient units.

You will drive efficient OR operations by partnering with nursing leadership, anesthesia, surgeons, and clinical support teams to ensure optimal resource use. Qualifications include a BSN and OR Charge Nurse experience, with a Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN required; OR Charge Nurse experience required.
• Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Operations, or Engineering preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in Epic and other healthcare technology systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead perioperative patient flow from Pre-Op/ED/inpatient units to the OR and then to PACU or inpatient unit.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, anesthesia, surgeons, and support teams to optimize OR resource use.
• Monitor the schedule, anticipate delays, and minimize disruptions, overtime, and staffing costs.
• Balance patient needs, staffing, surgical priorities, and operational demands in a fast-paced OR.
• Partner across Pre-Op, PACU, ICU and other departments to ensure seamless perioperative flow.
