Job summary

Watertown Regional Medical Center, part of ScionHealth, seeks a Registered Nurse - Surgery (RN-Surgery) to deliver direct perioperative nursing care in an acute care setting. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care with the interdisciplinary team across all ages.

Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, care coordination, patient education, discharge planning, and advocacy for patient well-being throughout the surgical experience.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice (WI).
• BSN preferred but not required.
• Commitment to continuous learning and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient-centered nursing care based on standards and the nursing process.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and per policy.
• Documents all aspects of patient care clearly and accurately.
• Monitors, evaluates and communicates patient condition with the team and family.
• Coordinates with surgical and interdisciplinary teams for optimal care.
• Assists in patient transfer, discharge and referrals as needed.
• Educates patients and families on procedures, recovery and post-op care.
• Advocates for patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical experience.
