Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an approved CORT program, or RN/LPN, or Certified Surgical Assistant Program.
• BLS Certification required at time of hire.
• Minimum of three years operating room scrubbing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides a safe environment for the surgical patient during perioperative care.
• Maintains sterility using aseptic technique.
• Plans and provides equipment and supplies based on patient and surgeon needs.
• Demonstrates competency assisting the surgeon according to unit scope of care.
• Assists and educates the scrub team when unfamiliar with procedures.
• Promotes cost containment while delivering quality patient care in the OR.
• Maintains professional demeanor with surgeons, staff, and patients.
