Job summary

Houston Physicians Hospital is seeking a dedicated PeriOp Coordinator to support the preoperative and postoperative departments. Under supervision, you will perform a wide range of administrative duties and serve as the liaison for select physician offices.

Minimum education includes a high school diploma with an Associate degree preferred; 1-2 years of healthcare clerical experience and EMR knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School graduate or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• 1-2 years clerical or administrative experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of medical terminology and EMR preferred.
• Computer knowledge: Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast paced unit and adapt to changes in workflow.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and secretarial support for preoperative and postoperative departments.
• Ensure professional and efficient operation of the department.
• Act as liaison for select physician offices and other care teams.
• Support preparation of patients for surgery and related coordination.
