Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Perioperative Nurse Coordinator for a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri, 6:30am–3:00pm). The role serves as a clinical resource and liaison among departments, surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff to optimize care, staffing, and efficiency in the perioperative environment.

The selected nurse will provide patient care as circulator or scrub as needed, mentor staff, and help lead quality initiatives while supporting breaks and unit education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide coordination and leadership for ensuring perioperative workflow and patient care.
• Develop strong relationships with physicians, vendors, and healthcare providers to ensure effective communication.
• Communicate clearly with health care team to maintain safety and morale.
• Lead educational initiatives, competency assessments, and staff development in the department.
