Job summary

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels is seeking an experienced Perinatal RN to provide bedside care in a high-acuity maternity setting. The nurse will apply the nursing process to assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients. A BSN is preferred; 1 year of perinatal nursing is preferred.

Must hold BLS; also NRP, ACLS, STABLE certifications. New nurses orientation and onboarding processes apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• BLS certification required.
• RN license in state of employment or compact.
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent perinatal practice preferred.
• Current certifications: NRP, ACLS, STABLE required.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses psychosocial and family learning needs during care.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
