Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• BLS required
• RN License in state of employment or compact
• New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
• Precepted onboarding with competency validation
• Annual competency verification requirements
• Perinatal RN Residency or recent perinatal practice preferred
• Current required certifications: AWHONN FHM series, NRP, ACLS

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable CHRISTUS Health competencies.
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Addresses complex psychosocial needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and families.
