Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Antepartum/Postpartum unit seeks a bedside Registered Nurse to provide direct, high‑quality care across antepartum and postpartum patients and their newborns. You will work with a collaborative interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans, advocate for patients, and participate in ongoing education.

The role requires 1–3 years of related nursing experience, an RN license, and BLS certification, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• 1–3 years of related work experience required.
• RN license required; American Heart Association – Basic Life Support certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and make necessary nursing judgments.
• Systematically assess health-care needs and formulate and evaluate care plans.
• Coordinate care of patients and direct assistive personnel to deliver safe, effective, efficient, equitable, and timely care.
• Work collaboratively with other health professionals to determine health-care needs.
• Develop trusting relationships with patients and families.
• Communicate effectively to share information.
• Serve as a patient advocate.
• Maintain mandatory education requirements, including emergency skills and unit-based competencies.
• Identify growth needs and participate in professional development activities.
• Participate in quality improvement activities (may be optional).
• Demonstrate commitment to patients, staff, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
