Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus seeks a Lactation Consultant to lead breastfeeding education across the perinatal continuum, collaborating with the patient care team to plan, implement, and evaluate education for mothers, families, and staff.

The LC will work with physicians and nurses to promote evidence-based breastfeeding support, maintain licensure, and pursue IBCLC certification within one year of hire; hours may include night shifts and a 24-hour care focus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
• Current Ohio RN license; certification as a lactation consultant preferred.
• IBCLC within one year of hire if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, manage, coordinate, direct, and evaluate breast feeding education for patients and families.
• Prioritize lactation education needs and collaborate with the care team and other healthcare providers.
• Provide expert lactation support, education, and counseling across the perinatal continuum.
