Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Lactation Consultant to provide expert breast feeding education and support to mothers and families. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals, promoting evidence-based care across the perinatal continuum.

This role emphasizes education planning, direction, and evaluation, with potential for 24-hour education coverage and community outreach as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
• Current Ohio RN license; IBCLC within one year if not certified.
• Nursing experience in a relevant healthcare setting; patient education experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide breast feeding knowledge and skills to patients and families.
• Plan, direct, and evaluate breast-feeding education for the department.
• Collaborate with the patient care team and other health care providers.
• Support ongoing community education and agency collaboration.
