Job summary

University Health's Perinatal Services team seeks a passionate RN to join Labor & Delivery at Lakewood Medical Center for PRN night shifts 6:45 PM–7:15 AM.

You will provide hands-on care across labor, delivery, recovery and OB triage, mentor new nurses, and contribute to evidence-based standards while promoting patient- and family-centered care. The role collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and supports ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications

• RN with degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Active Missouri RN license in good standing.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification (current).
• Completion of AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course.
• Clinical confidence in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum, and OB triage.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on nursing care through every stage of childbirth.
• Perform thorough assessments, develop care plans, and advocate for patients.
• Serve as mentor for new nurses, supporting onboarding, skills testing, and professional development.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based care.
• Participate in unit committees, education initiatives, research, and quality improvement projects.
• Inspire students and model best practices for the next generation of nurses.
