Job summary

University Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Perinatal Services team at Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. This PRN/part-time role covers 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with a 4-hour weekly schedule, spanning triage, antepartum, labor, delivery, and recovery, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.

You will mentor new nurses, participate in education initiatives, and contribute to quality improvement while supporting families through the childbirth journey.

Qualifications

Must hold a Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Active Missouri RN License in good standing.
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
Completion of AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course.
Clinical confidence in Labor, Delivery, Recovery and OB triage.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on nursing care through all stages of childbirth.
Perform assessments, develop care plans, and advocate for patients.
Mentor and onboard new nurses, support skills testing and professional growth.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based care.
Participate in unit committees, education initiatives, and quality improvement projects.
Inspire students and model best practices for the next generation of nurses.
