Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Perimeter Monitoring in Lansing, MI. You will serve and safeguard clients, monitor the perimeter, and support access control at a chemical/petrochemical site. This is a full-time role with a schedule spanning multiple night shifts.

You will conduct patrols, verify credentials, respond to incidents, and compile detailed activity reports, ensuring adherence to site protocols and fostering a secure environment.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• At least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities appropriate to a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, operational areas, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and contractor records, and report access concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site emergency protocols and contacting appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear activity reports, document incidents and observations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
