Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time armed Security Officer in Lansing, MI. You will safeguard clients in healthcare and other settings, enforce access control, and respond to security incidents. This role requires an armed background and a concealed carry permit, plus relevant experience.

The position offers a part-time schedule with a pay rate of $24.00 per hour and opportunities to grow within a dynamic team. You will work in a collaborative environment focused on safety and integrity.

Qualifications

• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Have at least one year of experience in armed security-related roles, law enforcement, or military service.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• A drug screen may be required as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control access points, verify identification and credentials, issue visitor access, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-control incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized access, unusual activity, and facility concerns.
• Support a professional healthcare environment by providing directions, communicating clearly with staff and visitors, and helping maintain orderly access to restricted areas.
