Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Perimeter Monitoring in Lansing, MI to safeguard clients and monitor access at a chemical/petrochemical location. This full-time role emphasizes customer service and incident response.

You will conduct patrols, verify credentials, document incidents, and communicate with leadership as part of a dedicated security team that values integrity and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A background check will be conducted as required by law.
• A drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities appropriate to a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, operational areas, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and contractor records, and report access concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site emergency protocols and contacting appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear activity reports, document incidents and observations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
