Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking an RN for the Perianesthesia Unit in the Ambulatory Recovery, Pre-operative and Post-operative areas. The role emphasizes primary practice, pre-op, phase I/II recovery and ECT, with care planning and ongoing patient assessment.

The successful candidate will have 1+ year in a critical care setting, hold a valid Oregon RN license, and complete BLS. Orientation begins on admission and includes unit-specific training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience in a critical care setting (ER, ICU, CCU or PACU)
• BSN: accredited program and required 30 days before start date
• ADN: associate degree in nursing and 30 days before start date
• ADN grads must enroll in BSN program within 3 years and complete within 5 years
• Current, unencumbered Oregon State RN license
• BLS from AHA required; orientation during onboarding

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect professional nursing care in Ambulatory Recovery, Pre-op and Post-op areas
• Assess patient needs, develop care plans, implement and evaluate nursing care
• Educate and consult staff, students, patients and the community
• Be prepared to float within perioperative services units
