Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Perinatal Sonographer II for the LVPG-L Maternal Fetal Medicine at Montage. The role performs high-risk obstetric ultrasound exams per AIUM protocols with clinical judgment and prepares preliminary reports.

The candidate will review patient history, select transducers, optimize images, and explain procedures to patients, ensuring safety and accuracy in a fast-paced prenatal imaging environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or Technical School Diploma in Ultrasonography or an Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Experience with 3D/4D imaging preferred.
  • RDMS-OB/GYN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
  • Maintains electronic patient charts and records to process sonographic data and observations.
  • Obtains pertinent medical history prior to exams and prepares preliminary reports.
  • Operates ultrasound equipment with appropriate transducers and adjusts settings based on fetal position and anatomy.
  • Explains medical studies and procedures to patients so they are informed about the examination.

Performs clinical assessment, diagnostic sonography examinations, and synthesizes information with patient's medical history.Job DutiesRecords anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.Maintains electronic patient charts and records to processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the sonogram.Maintains patient information in the ultrasound documentation/reporting system, image storage system, and EMR. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
