Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Nursing Education Specialist to guide staff development and education for the Nursing Department. You will assess needs, plan and evaluate programs, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to improve patient care.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, an active MA RN license, and at least three years of clinical nursing experience with teaching/preceptor or charge nurse roles.

Qualifications

Must have at least 3 years of clinical nursing experience with at least 1 year in precepting or as a charge nurse.
Demonstrated leadership experience and strong communication skills.
Active RN license in the State of Massachusetts and nursing degree.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate staff development and educational activities for designated areas.
Ensure and improve quality of patient care through coaching and collaboration with the care team.
Develop and implement educational programs for the Nursing Department.
Contribute to department policies, goals, and procedures for efficient operations.
Coordinate day/evening huddles to review admissions, progress toward goals, and discharge plans.
