Job summary

Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is expanding its perfusion team. The Perfusionist operates extracorporeal circulation equipment during surgeries, ensuring patient safety and data integrity.

This full-time role includes on-call responsibilities and relocation assistance. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in perfusion, 1–2 years of experience, CCP certification, Texas licensure, and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited perfusion program.
• 1–2 years of intermediate-level perfusion experience.
• Current CCP certification and Texas Licensed Perfusionist (PERFUSIO); BLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitors circulatory process and takes action when abnormalities arise.
• Ensures sterility and correct setup of disposable equipment.
• Operates the heart-lung machine, blood gas analyzer, clotting time/heparin analyzer, and related devices.
• Mixes and administers drugs and solutions, adjusting gas flow as needed.
• Records perfusion data during and after surgery and evaluates postoperative data.
• Performs quality control and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies.
