St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson is seeking a certified perfusionist to provide cardiopulmonary support during surgery, including operating the heart-lung machine and monitoring intra-aortic balloon pump devices.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Biomedical or related field, 2–3 years' experience, ACP certification and NJ licensure, and strong analytical skills. You will work with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and maintain hemodynamic stability during complex

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or related field and 2–3 years of previous work related experience.
• Certification required as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ACP) and Perfusionist Licensure by NJ State. Requires analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems and design relatively complex systems and programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide hemodynamic support during surgery using the heart-lung machine and related technology.
• Protect brain and adjust to minute-to-minute metabolic changes during perfusion.
• Operate intra-aortic balloon pump and other perfusion-related equipment to maintain patient stability.
