Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a perfusionist to operate the heart–lung machine during cardiac surgeries and other procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass. You will be part of the cardiovascular surgical team ensuring stable physiology and adequate tissue perfusion.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, monitoring the patient, and collaborating with the surgeon. Board certification or eligibility with ABCP is required, with 2 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Board certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or eligible and must become board certified within two years.
• New graduates eligible if ABCP exam passed after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the heart-lung machine and other surgical equipment.
• Monitor patient status and hemodynamics during procedures.
• Perform pharmacological interventions or transfusions as directed by surgeon.
• Communicate patient condition to the surgical team during operation.
• Ensure knowledge of extracorporeal circulation equipment and techniques.
