Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA is seeking an experienced Perfusionist to join the open-heart surgical team. You will operate the heart-lung machine, manage anticoagulation, and monitor blood gases, electrolytes, and perfusion parameters.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and perfusion education; Louisiana licensure is preferred. Prior pediatric/adult perfusion experience is a plus, with a role focused on patient safety, documentation, and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and graduation from an accredited perfusion program.
• Perfusionist certification or eligibility to sit for AB Cardiovascular Perfusion board.
• Louisiana licensure in perfusion preferred.
• 2 years pediatric or adult perfusion experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain all perfusion equipment during surgeries.
• Manage anticoagulation and monitor patient status during procedures.
• Document procedures and monitor quality throughout perfusion runs.
• Maintain par levels of perfusion and ECMO supplies.
• Comply with all health, safety and departmental policies.
