Job summary

Summit Public Schools is seeking a Performing Arts Teacher for the 2026-27 school year in Daly City. You will teach project-based units, mentor a small group of students daily, and support self-directed learning while collaborating with colleagues across the program.

A strong emphasis on DEIB and high expectations for all students is required. The role requires a California teaching credential and a Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is welcome but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Formal teaching credential is required in California or another US state.
• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• See sample teacher schedules: manage day around 8:00–5:00 with your advisory group.
• Teach project-based units during Project Time and lead 90-minute blocks in high school or four 55-minute blocks in middle school.
• Build deep relationships with a small group of mentees daily and coach students toward goals.
• Facilitate Self-Directed Learning time and interventions to support students.
• Collaborate in all-faculty meetings for professional development and school improvement.
