Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a performance test engineer to develop and implement robust testing frameworks for verifying application services. You will design workloads, craft scalable test scripts, and drive performance improvements through data-driven insights across CI/CD, cloud, and infrastructure teams.

The role requires strong experience in performance requirements, scripting, and monitoring with tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana, and Kubernetes/Docker.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus five years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Test Lead, or related occupation.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus three years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Test Lead, or related occupation.
• Experience with gathering performance requirements and translating them into test plans, parameterized scripts, and measurable success criteria aligned with SLAs; designing, scripting, load generator configuration, test scheduling, execution monitoring, and detailed performance analysis using JMeter and LoadRunner.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement performance test frameworks to verify application services.
• Plan, design, build, and execute performance test scenarios and scripts.
• Gather requirements, understand use cases, design performance plans, and analyze the performance of upcoming features.
• Design workload modeling.
• Integrate performance testing solutions with CI/CD, release engineering, infrastructure, cloud, and development teams.
• Review for continuous improvements in performance test engineering controls and review test artifacts on a regular basis.
• Identify performance bottlenecks using thread dump and heap dump analysis.
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use the insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
