Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation is seeking an Associate Investigator 2 to join the Performance Management Unit. The role focuses on auditing, evaluating internal controls, and ensuring data integrity across Bridges program operations at 55 Water St, Manhattan.

You will work with diverse agency partners to deliver timely, accurate management information. Responsibilities include developing dashboards, KPI tracking, and executive reporting while coordinating with project managers,

Qualifications

• A four-year high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of investigative experience.
• Associate degree + 4 years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree + 2 years of experience.
• Education/experience equivalent to above.

Responsibilities

• Maintain milestones, KPIs, target dates, owners, and escalation thresholds.
• Participate in performance-review meetings and ensure deadlines are met.
• Review timeliness and efficacy of internal processes and workflows.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, fiscal staff, procurement, legal affairs, and others to solve cross‑functional obstacles.
• Assist in coordinating responses to internal and external audits; track corrective actions.
• Develop procedures, templates, and reporting standards for management information.
• Partner with DOT Analytics and IT to improve data quality and automate reporting.
• Assist in executive briefings, memoranda, trend analyses, and presentations.
• Identify and evaluate financial risks; propose mitigations.
• Assess staff productivity and suggest improvements.
