Job summary

Morgan Stanley's Parametric division seeks an Analyst, Performance Attribution to support external distribution through rigorous attribution analytics. The role requires teamwork across departments, timely delivery, and a focus on client service.

This position operates within Parametric's hybrid model, with three days in the office and flexible in-office/remote days. A 4-year degree and 2+ years of experience are expected, along with strong Excel and data interpretation skills.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a quantitative field (preferred).
• 2+ years of industry experience.
• Thorough knowledge of traditional asset management and alternatives investments (derivatives, fixed income, cash equities, mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity).
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and ability to interpret performance impact of transactions and corporate actions.
• Asset management performance calculation knowledge.
• Understanding of attribution theory and practice.
• Ability to think strategically and build on system capabilities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to handle heavy, deadline-oriented workload.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly, monthly, and ad hoc performance attribution analyses for institutional and wealth management clients and marketing materials.
• Coordinate commentary with portfolio managers.
• Perform detailed peer review of deliverables.
• Manage timely and accurate delivery of all requests.
• Contribute to integration efforts to harmonize attribution reporting across Parametric and MSIM lines.
• Develop knowledge of Parametric products and strategies.
• Uphold department reputation through professionalism, accuracy, and client service.
