Job summary

The School of Music at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track percussion position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date is August 1, 2027, and the successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses, conduct percussion ensembles, and engage in active performance and scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in percussion performance required by the appointment date.
• Three (3) years of full-time teaching at the collegiate level required by the appointment date.
• Experience coordinating an instrumental area or with non-traditional ensembles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied percussion, ensembles, and percussion-related courses.
• Recruit percussionists and coordinate percussion activities.
• Maintain an active performer/composer/clinician profile regionally or nationally.
