Job summary

PlusAI, Inc. is seeking a Perception Validation Engineer to define, develop, and execute validation strategies ensuring AV perception accuracy and reliability.

You will design automated pipelines, establish performance metrics, and validate BEV-based ML models against real-world edge cases in a fast-growing autonomous truck environment. The role combines AI with rigorous systems engineering, including ground truth generation, edge-case mining, and collaboration with ML, Simulation, and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Robotics or related quantitative field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in testing, validation, or development of robotics/autonomous systems or computer vision models.
• Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Pytest) and/or C++.

Responsibilities

• Define rigorous validation metrics for perception stacks (camera, LiDAR, radar, fusion).
• Build automated regression testing pipelines for real-world and synthetic data.
• Oversee ground truth data generation with tooling and offline models.
• Identify edge-case scenarios to stress-test the perception system.
• Collaborate on root-cause analysis and loop back to model training.
• Develop simulation & tooling with the Simulation team to bridge sim/real validation.
• Produce verification and safety reports to support safety cases.
