Job summary

County of Ventura is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse III at Ventura County Medical Center to provide wound care, ostomy and continence management across inpatient units, and to lead interdisciplinary rounds and initiatives. You will act as a wound care resource and consultant for patients, families, and staff, guiding policy and practice.

The role requires five years of RN experience including two years in wound/ostomy care, a CA RN license, BLS, and Cerner proficiency, with strong education

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time RN experience, including two years in wound and ostomy care.
• Current California RN license and BLS/CPR certification by start date.
• Intermediate Cerner and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Implements nursing processes across care plans and adjusts as needed.
• Provides direction to staff on complex health problems.
• Educates patients, families, and staff; coordinates educational programs.
• Evaluates progress and participates in care committees.
• Maintains documentation of patient status and responses.
• Leads wound care initiatives and serves as a preceptor.
• Collaborates with the care team to ensure safe, healing care.
• Conducts rounds on wound/pressure ulcers daily or as needed.
