Job summary

County of Ventura seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to deliver rapid, high-quality care at Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to stabilize patients and manage diverse emergencies.

The role requires California RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 6 months of acute care experience, with ongoing training and certification opportunities. Expect a dynamic, demanding environment with patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Requires RN license in California or eligibility for CA licensure.
• Requires BLS, ACLS and PALS certification.
• Requires TNCC, NIHSS, CSSRS and AVADE within 6 months of hire.
• Six months of recent full-time acute care RN experience in a hospital or equivalent setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, organize, and provide nursing care in an emergency department.
• Deliver care in a fast-paced ED within a Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Center.
• Assist in rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment of medical emergencies and traumatic injuries.
• Prioritize patient needs and respond to high-volume patient flow and critical situations.
• Document treatment, observations, and changes in patient condition; follow doctors’ orders and assist in examinations.
