Job summary

Dignity Health - St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, CA seeks a Wound Care Nurse to provide expert wound and ostomy care, elevate patient outcomes, and ensure cost-effective management within a hospital setting.

You will assess, plan, and evaluate individualized care, educate patients and staff on best practices, monitor outcomes, and ensure protocol adherence while promoting evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Three years of clinical experience in wound/ostomy care and PICC line insertion.
• RN license and active BLS certification.
• High School Diploma or GED; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes interdisciplinary wound/ostomy care and PICC insertions in the hospital.
• Encourages patient/family involvement in plan of care decisions.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates wound care with documentation.
• Supervises staff wound care and serves as an educational resource.
• Directs staff on wound care and specialty bed usage.
• Identifies educational needs and conducts classes with nursing education.
