Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks a Sonography Technician to perform ultrasound exams and assist radiologists in biopsies. The role requires knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and ability to perform general and vascular studies, with OR experience preferred.

The ideal candidate has ARDMS, at least two years of acute care sonography experience, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience as a sonographer at an acute care facility preferred
• Diploma from a certified school of ultrasound or equivalent preferred
• ARDMS required
• RVT strongly preferred; Current BLS (AHA) certification required

Responsibilities

• Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
• Ability to perform general & vascular exams (arterial, carotids, etc.)
• Ability to follow physician’s orders
• Ability to pull related exams for doctor viewing
• Must be able to perform sonography studies in an operating room setting
• Performs “Time Out” on all procedures, ensures universal protocols are completed on all patients by utilizing “two identifiers” per TJC NPSG standard
• Verbalizes and demonstrates, in clinical practice, HIPAA compliance and all safety practices as supported by organizational policy and procedure
