Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program and certification within 12 months.
• Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Proof of at least one year of surgical technologist employment between 2010-2014 for grandfathering.
• Certification within 24 months of hire under hard-to-fill clause.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and assist with instrument setup and passing to the surgeon.
• Prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Drape patient and ensure proper surgical attire for team.
• Count sponges and sharps with the circulating nurse.
• Assist with post-operative dressings and instrument sterilization.
• Support OR staff and orient new team members.
