Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with surgical technician training.
• Respectful communication with patients, families, and care partners.

• Strong communication and teamwork within the perioperative team.
• Commitment to accuracy, detail, and patient safety.
• Knowledge of OR equipment, safety standards, and sterile technique.

• BLS and CST certifications (TS-C/TS-CST) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect OR for cleanliness, set up equipment, and prepare sterile field.
• Assist with gowning/gloving, draping, and maintaining sterile field integrity.
• Provide thorough handoff reports to relieve personnel for continuity.
• Count sharps/sponges/instruments with circulating nurse; address issues.
• Maintain supplies and a safe, clean operating room environment.
• Serve as a preceptor to other surgical team members when needed.
