Job summary

Jefferson Einstein Montgomery is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a per diem daytime shift in the Short Procedure unit of the Montgomery location. The CST will support the intraoperative team by maintaining the sterile field, preparing instruments, and assisting with gowning and draping, while ensuring patient safety and high-quality care.

The role includes precepting other surgical team members as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; graduate of a surgical technician training program.
• Knowledge of conveying respect and collaborating with patients and families.
• Understanding of effective communication with diverse patient populations.
• Understanding of accuracy and attention to detail in perioperative care.
• Familiarity with industry standards, policies and procedures relevant to surgical functions.
• Knowledge of OR safety, equipment and sterilization processes.
• BLS certification and CST/TS-C credentials as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspects OR for cleanliness, sets up and prepares equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Assists with gowning and gloving the surgical team and maintains sterile field integrity.
• Counts sharps, sponges, and instruments with circulating nurse; reports discrepancies.
• Maintains supplies and a safe, clean operating room environment; serves as a preceptor when needed.
