Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to render care to patients under the RN direction, assist with direct patient care activities, and prepare the Operating Room before and after surgery. Responsibilities include gathering supplies, setting up sterile instrument fields, and maintaining aseptic technique.

Preferred candidates will have OR experience and a Surgical Technology or Nursing degree, with BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing.
• OR experience is required.
• BCLS certification required.
• Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking and coordination under direct supervision of the RN.
• Maintains and manages instruments, equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and asepsis.
• Communicates effectively with the team, co-workers and patients in a professional manner.
