Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our OR team. You will uphold aseptic technique, assist the circulator, and prepare patients and instruments for procedures while ensuring efficient room turnover.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, BLS for Healthcare Provider, and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program. CVOR experience (2 years) is required; NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred. Day shifts, full-time, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology required or successful completion of military training program for Surgical Technology or Operating Room Specialist.
• 2 years CVOR operating room experience in surgical technologist role required.
• Current certification preferred with NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Meets qualifications of ST II in Surgical Tech Ladder.

Responsibilities

• Possesses thorough aseptic technique knowledge and application.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments pre/during/post procedure.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep, instrument assembly, and room turnover.
• Performs duties per department policy and procedure.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and documents charges accurately.
• Attends in-services and participates in improvement processes.
