Job summary

Rothman Orthopaedics in Willow Grove, PA is seeking a per diem Surgical Clinical Assistant (Certified Medical Assistant or Athletic Trainer) to support physicians with clinical and administrative tasks.

The SCA will assist during pre- and post-operative care, perform wound checks, manage patient communications, and help with scheduling, documentation in the EMR, and prescription processing under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Must hold CCMA, CRMA, EMT, or ATC certification and be active.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology.
• Experience with EMR systems preferred.
• Computer skills including MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with clinical duties and patient care.
• Perform pre-operative assessments and wound checks when needed.
• Assist during pre-op and post-op instructions and calls.
• Manage prescription processing under physician sign-off and faxing/PHI protocols.
• Document patient information in the EHR and coordinate scheduling.
• Support on-call and coverage for various office locations.
