Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center, part of the Tenet Healthcare family, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for per diem daytime shifts in Palm Springs, CA. The role focuses on rehabilitation services including speech therapy across acute and outpatient settings.

The ideal candidate holds California licensure, demonstrates strong communication and documentation skills, and has current BLS certification. Preferred experience includes Barium Swallow evaluations.

Qualifications

• Valid California Speech Pathology Licensure
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
• Experience in Barium Swallow Evaluations (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients using good body mechanics and safety techniques.
• Performs evaluations, planning, and treatment of patients in a timely manner.
• Document accurately and timely within the scope of practice.
• Report overtime activity to Rehab manager for approval and participate in self-directed team scheduling.
• Attend and participate in team meetings to discuss care plans and assist in departmental goals.
• Attend in-services offered by the department to improve clinical strength.
• Provide age-appropriate care integrating developmental stages from life span.
• Prepare equipment and therapy treatment sites for safe provision of services.
• Communicate equipment problems promptly and perform monthly equipment safety inspections.
• Assist with scheduling of patients and coordination of multiple therapy interventions.
