Job summary

Brio Living Services in Chelsea, MI is seeking a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our 58-acre retirement community. You will diagnose and treat speech, language, voice and fluency impairments as part of in-house rehab across SNF, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Independent Living.

The role offers flexible per diem scheduling, weekend coverage, and holiday shifts. A graduate therapy degree, current state license, and 2 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Therapy program.
• Current Speech Therapist state license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Position requires the ability to lift and move objects, weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs hearing and/or speech and language examinations.
• Evaluates hearing and /or speech and language test results.
• Evaluates barium swallow, other test results, and overall medical background.
• Diagnoses patients and formulates treatment plans.
• Educate patients and family members about the various communication methods to cope with impairment.
• Writes reports and maintains client information.
• Performs administrative responsibilities: coordinates paperwork, writes lesson plans, schedules case management activities, and performs record-keeping for administrative, billing and caseload purposes.
• Develops individual and/or group activities and/or programs.
• Participates in the planning and implementing of individualized educational planning (IEP) meetings, in-service meetings, or intervention assistance team meetings.

Schedule: Per Diem | Flexible Scheduling | Three (3) shifts per calendar month | Regularly covering weekend shifts is expected | Two (2) holidays per year.
Department: Kresge Health & Rehab Center | Memory Care, Assisted Living, and Independent Living | Chelsea Retirement Community | Chelsea, MI

The Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, and fluency impairments as part of in-house rehab services in SNF, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Independent Living.
