Job summary

The Springs of Covington is seeking a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist to join our in-house rehab team in Fort Smith, AR. You will provide skilled, medically necessary assessments and individualized treatment plans to help residents improve swallowing and cognition.

Qualifications

• Active Arkansas license in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• Current ASHA Certification is required.
• In good standing with licensing boards and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits.
• Assist residents to improve cognition or swallowing.
• Provide education to residents and caregivers.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to increase independence.
• Provide AAC systems for individuals with language disorders.
• Train clients, family, and caregivers as subject matter experts.
• Coordinate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures.
• Demonstrate competent clinical skills per standards of practice.
• Communicate changes in resident condition and document accordingly.
• Ensure accurate billing records and clinical documentation.
• Address family requests and concerns promptly.
• Coordinate training with Restorative Nursing and staff.
• Ensure safety and confidentiality of patient information.
