Job summary

Arlington Heights Health is seeking a Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist to join our in-house rehab team serving residents in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting.

The SLP will evaluate swallowing and cognitive deficits, implement individualized treatment plans, and educate residents and caregivers. Texas licensure and ASHA certification are required. Flexible scheduling and competitive compensation are offered.

Qualifications

• SNF/Long term care experience preferred.
• Current knowledge of treatment practices.
• Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits.
• Assist residents to improve cognition or swallowing.
• Educate residents and caregivers.
• Provide skilled speech-language therapy assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Provide AAC systems for individuals with expressive/language disorders.
• Train clients, families, caregivers, and other professionals.
• Coordinate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures.
• Demonstrate competence with current Speech Therapy standards.
• Communicate changes in resident condition.
• Provide accurate billing records and clinical documentation.
