The Hotchkiss School is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide primary health care for students at the School Health Center. Duties include evaluating health needs, administering medications with orders, and coordinating referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid CT RN license or eligibility required.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Strong integrity and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate student health records.
• Knowledge of adolescent health assessment.
• Proficient computer skills for record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary health care and nursing intervention per standing orders.
• Render routine and acute care per Nurse Practice Act.
• Administer medications with parental permission and orders.
• Perform routine and emergency first aid.
• Maintain student health records accurately.
• Refer students to resources as needed.
• Coordinate referrals to school resources like counseling.
• Collect information for state reports.
• Communicate with parents and staff with diplomacy.
• Follow infection control protocols including PPE.
• Collaborate with Health Center staff on care plans.
• Be on-call within 1 hour and avoid impairment.
• Attend in-service and department meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
