Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. You choose when you work, with day or night shifts available and the option for daily or weekly pay.

Per diem RN positions offer control over your schedule, allowing you to build a fuller or more casual assignment. Competitive per diem pay is available across leading acute care hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the last 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association.
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and equipment for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt to different hospital environments and unit needs.

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.
