First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is actively seeking experienced PCU Registered Nurses for per diem hospital opportunities throughout the Hampton Roads area. You can pick up an occasional shift or build a fuller schedule, choosing days or nights that fit your availability.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience in past 4 years.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Current ACLS certification (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.

Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
