Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking experienced PCU RNs for per diem hospital assignments in the Hampton Roads area. You can pick up shifts day or night and set your own schedule, with competitive per diem pay and daily/weekly pay options.

Active Virginia RN license, BLS and ACLS are required, plus current TB test and COVID vaccination or approved exemption. Per diem positions offer flexible hours in top acute care hospitals with supportive local staffing.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years PCU nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• TB test current within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and PCU equipment as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt to different hospital environments and unit needs.

Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption

Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.
