Job summary

First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital shifts in Hampton Roads, VA. Shifts include days and nights with flexible per diem scheduling.

Qualified candidates will hold an active Virginia RN License, have 2+ years PCU experience, current BLS/ACLS, and meet infection control and vaccination requirements. Per diem work offers control over your schedule and daily/weekly pay options.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN License required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs.
