Job summary

First Choice Nurses seeks an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. You choose when you work, with day and night shifts available across leading acute care hospitals.

Requirements include an active Virginia RN license, 2+ years PCU experience, and BLS/ACLS; QuantiFERON-TB, COVID-19 vaccination or exemption may be required. Competitive per diem pay and flexible scheduling are offered.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within past 4 years.
• BLS certification required (AHA).
• ACLS certification required (AHA).
• QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and equipment for PCU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Follow hospital infection-control and patient-safety guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adapt to different hospital environments and unit needs.

PCU RN Requirements

• Active Virginia RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
• Current BLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment
