First Choice Nurses of Eastern VA is seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for per diem hospital shifts in the Hampton Roads, VA area. Per diem openings offer Day or Night shifts with flexible scheduling and options for daily or weekly pay.

Qualified candidates hold an active Virginia RN license, at least 2 years PCU experience in the last 4 years, and current BLS/ACLS certifications, plus a recent QuantiFERON-TB Gold test. COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption is required.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Current ACLS certification (AHA).
• Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months.
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized PCU equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; maintain EMR records.
• Follow infection-control standards and patient-safety guidelines.
• Educate patients and families about care plans.
